Preparation
  • Judogi clean (white suit, correct size and tie)


  • Belt correctly tied (Obi)


  • Fingernails and toenails short – injury protection for your partner


  • Ear/head guard ready for pupils and beginners

Warm-up
  • Ukemi (breakfall technique) to start: backward, forward and sideways rolls


  • Joint warm-up: knees, hips, shoulders, neck


  • Stretches for hip openers (straddle sit, butterfly sit)

Technique Training (Nage-waza / Katame-waza)
  • Uchi-komi (solo entry drills) – practise a clean entry movement


  • Nage-komi (practise complete throws, controlled)


  • Ne-waza drilling: Osaekomi (holds), Shime (chokes), Kansetsu (locks)


  • Kakari-geiko (free practice with rotation)

Randori (Free Training)
  • Standing Randori (Tachi-waza) – controlled free fighting on the feet


  • Ne-waza Randori – free ground work sparring


  • Focus: timing and Kuzushi (breaking balance), not strength

Cool-down
  • Cool-down and group stretching in a circle


  • Corrections and feedback from the Sensei


  • Closing Rei: joint bow to the Dojo and Sensei
